赛斯解释人生目的的一个案例


赛斯说：
一、那男孩出于他自己的原因，只与你们短暂相聚。他是要来启迪你们，他也做到了。

二、他本不打算在物质实相里停留。他只是来向你们展示什么是可能的，并让你俩都对内在实相有一个了解。

三、他想给你们一个推动力，而他死了比活着的影响要大得多，他知道这一点。

四、他很怕活到青年时代，因为他不想遇见一位年轻女子，被她吸引，又继续一次物质生命。

五、在前世你曾经帮助他‘拯救他的灵魂’，而他是在报答你。他曾一度想利用自己的才能去获得权力，并利用祭司的职位谋求私利。就在那时，你阻止了他。”

这个案例中，赛斯描述人生目的所使用的词语指向“帮助”“报答”。
有趣的是，他不想遇见某位女子，也算是人生目的的一部分。
赛斯用了那么多的话，才能近似地描述一个早逝孩子的人生目的。

以远为广义的说法，你们人类有意识地设定的目标也促成了同类的内在生理活动之运作。

也应该试着从整个人类的角度去看这个问题。

稍微自我检查一下，你就会知道以一种非常简单的方式你是永远在思索可能性的，你永远在可能的行动与替换的方向之间做选择。

一个选择预设了可能的行动，每个皆可能，每个在你们的实相系统里都可能实现。

你们的私人经验中充满的这种决定，远比你通常所了解的要多。每天都有小小的无害例子出现：“我要去看电影呢还是去打保龄球？”“我应该现在刷牙还是待会儿呢？”“我应该今天还是明天写信给我的朋友呢？”也有关于事业、生活方式、或牵涉其它更深的东西之更切身的决定。

以你们的说法，你做的每个决定都或多或少改变了你所知的实相。

心得
我们的每个选择里包含着某些目标和意图。这些微小的目标和意图，与人生总目标、使命息息相关。
我们此生的目标、使命，实际上是在每个选择里被体现出来的。
所以仔细的觉察每个选择背后的意图，就是在发现人生目的。

A small amount of self-examination should show you that in a very simple way you are always thinking about probabilities. You are always making choices between probable actions and alternate courses. A choice presupposes probable acts, each possible, each capable of actualization within your system of reality. Your private experience is far more filled with such decisions than you usually realize. There are tiny innocuous instances that come up daily: “Shall I go to the movies, or bowling?” “Shall I brush my teeth now or later?” “Should I write to my friend today or tomorrow?” There are also more pertinent questions having to do with careers, ways of life, or other deeper involvements. In your terms, each decision you make alters the reality that you know to one degree or another.

赛斯说：
他（鲁柏）把他自己的目的藏起来，不让自己看到，如你们许多人那样。

当然，在同时他也与你们所有人一样，向你们自己的目标努力。

不过要承认他的目的，要把那目的带到光天化日之下，会意味着要鲁柏做一个他先前尚未能做的私人与公开的结盟声明。

你们每个人的目标都不同。你们有些人从事种种冒险，如处理亲密的家庭接触、与小孩或与其它事业之深层的个人投入，这些都与实质的经验“垂直的”相遇。

心得
赛斯这里鼓励鲁柏（珍）要承认自己的目的，并把目的带到光天化日之下。我们也应该尽量明晰自己的人生目的。

He hid his own purpose from himself, as many of you do. At the same time he was pursuing it, of course, as all of you are working toward your own goals.

To admit his purpose, however, to bring it out into the open, would mean for Ruburt a private and public statement of affiliation such as he was not able to make earlier. The goals of each of you differ. Some of you are embarked upon adventures that deal with intimate family contact, deep personal involvement with children, or with other careers that meet “vertically” with physical experience.

You begin in the corner of an office, or on the assembly line, or in the advertising agency, or in the kitchen. You begin where you are.

The problem of war will sooner or later teach you that when you kill another man, basically you will end up killing yourself. The over-population problem will teach you that if you do not have a loving concern for the environment in which you dwell, it will no longer sustain you ---- you will not be worthy of it. Psychologists often speak of the needs of man. Here I would like to speak instead of the pleasures of man, for one of the distinguishing characteristics of value fulfillment is its pleasurable effect. It is not so much that man or nature seeks to satisfy needs, but to exuberantly, rambunctiously seek pleasure—and through following its pleasure each organism finds and satisfies its needs as well. Far more is involved in the experience of life, however, than the satisfaction of bare needs, for life is everywhere possessed with a desire toward quality—a quality that acknowledges the affirming characteristics of pleasure itself.

Such action serves as a safeguard so that you do not overemphasize the gaps that may exist in yourself or in society, between the reality and the ideal condition. Many people want to change the world for the better, but that ideal seems so awe-inspiring that they think they can make no headway unless they perform some great acts of daring or heroism, or envision themselves in some political or religious place of power, or promote an uprising or rebellion. The ideal seems so remote and unreachable that, again, sometimes any means, however reprehensible, eventually can seem justified (see Session 850, for example). To change the world for the better, you must begin by changing your own life. There is no other way.
